Butyric acid is the preferred energy source of the cells lining the intestine — but conventional butyrate is pungent and released too early to reach the gut. ProPhorce SR 130 esterifies butyric acid onto a glycerol backbone (tri and diglycerides), so it is odourless, stable and released gradually along the intestinal tract exactly where it is needed.
